Residential Development Practice
For decades we have worked with national and California-based homebuilders,
both publicly owned and privately held, primarily in connection with their
land acquisition, financing and construction activities, but also with their
marketing and sales efforts. We have worked with these developers in creating
large, master-planned communities, golf course developments, and dense in-fill
projects.
Our clients build luxury homes on large estates, first-time-buyer and move-up
single family detached homes in suburban communities, multi-family condominium
and apartment projects, and mixed-use developments. We have been responsible
for structuring, negotiating and documenting the necessary agreements for
purchases, sales, options, ground leases and 1031 exchanges, as well as any
associated financing documentation.
With the recent challenges in our economy and tightening of credit, our
private developer clients increasingly have asked us to assist them in
structuring their required equity through formation of limited liability
companies, joint ventures, and co-tenancy agreements.
